Senior Citizen & Divyang Assistance
Inclusive Spiritual Experience for Devotees
Kamakhya Temple warmly welcomes devotees of all ages and abilities. The temple management, along with volunteers and local organizations, makes continuous efforts to ensure that senior citizens and divyang (differently-abled) pilgrims can comfortably participate in the darshan and rituals.
Priority Access & Special Queues
To reduce waiting time and physical strain, dedicated queue systems are arranged during peak days and festivals. Senior citizens and divyang devotees are often given priority darshan slots to make their spiritual journey smoother.
Wheelchair & Support Services
Within the temple complex, wheelchairs and basic mobility assistance are made available. Devotees who require help can also seek support from temple volunteers, who assist in navigating the steps and crowded pathways of Nilachal Hill.
Resting Points & Waiting Areas
Several shaded resting areas and seating arrangements are placed near the main complex and along the pathway. These facilities provide relief to elderly devotees, especially during long queues or hot weather.
Guidance & Volunteer Assistance
Temple volunteers are present to guide senior and divyang pilgrims with directions, rituals, and movement inside the complex. They also extend assistance in receiving prasad, entering sanctum areas, and returning safely to resting spots.
Transportation to Temple Hilltop
Auto-rickshaws, shared taxis, and shuttle services are available from the foothill to the temple entrance, making the uphill journey easier for senior citizens and differently-abled visitors.
A Devotion Without Barriers
The essence of Kamakhya lies in devotion, and the temple strives to ensure that age or physical ability never becomes a barrier in experiencing the divine blessings of Maa Kamakhya.
